Come let me love you
Let me give my life to you
Let me drown in your laughter
Let me die in your arms
Let me lay down beside you
Let me always be with you
Come let me love you
Come love me again

Those are lines from a John Denver song. I have always loved it ever since I can remember, and since it was released in 1974, that’s about all my life. It’s called Annie’s Song because he wrote it for his wife, but on days when I feel down or alone, I play it and imagine sitting with Jesus under the shade of a large oak tree, just the two of us, alone, in the middle of nowhere. He wouldn’t necessarily be saying the words to me, but more that I can feel them in his eyes and in his manner towards me. I wish that I could say the situation was reversed, but I am terrible at expressing love, but He would know that and understand.

So for those, who might need this song and your time alone with Jesus, wherever that may be, I am including all the lyrics and a YouTube video. May God bless you, and I hope you find comfort in the song on a day you need it.

You fill up my senses
Like a night in a forest
Like the mountains in springtime
Like a walk in the rain
Like a storm in the desert
Like a sleepy blue ocean
You fill up my senses
Come fill me again

Come let me love you
Let me give my life to you
Let me drown in your laughter
Let me die in your arms
Let me lay down beside you
Let me always be with you
Come let me love you
Come love me again

Come let me love you
Let me give my life to you
Come let me love you
Come love me again

You fill up my senses
Like a night in a forest
Like the mountains in springtime
Like a walk in the rain
Like a storm in the desert
Like a sleepy blue ocean
You fill up my senses
Come fill me again

I watched you walk across

the stage this afternoon

Knowing I’d nothing –

Nothing, to do with it.

I stood in the far back –

out of the way today

And just retreated,

retreated…

when you were handed

your high school diploma.

I wish I knew how

To tell you I love you.

I wrote you this poem

As I thought it was a start.

I’ve browsed your Facebook posts

Though I am not your friend

Your first homecoming,

Prom night, first date

Your broken arm,

and staying out late.

I wish I knew how

To show you I love you.

I wrote you this poem

As I thought it might be a start.

Some men God made a dad.

I’m sorry I’m not that man.

That’s why I went away

Let you grow on without me.

Don’t think I don’t love you.

Don’t think I don’t miss you.

Don’t think my heart’s not broken,

Destroyed and beyond repair

I wish I knew how

To tell you I love you.

I wrote you this poem

As I think it is a start.

Love. So much has been written, sung, created, joined, saved, married, and born… a universe generated from our God’s love, LOVE so powerful, that, from that love, life burst forth from nothing. God loved life beyond our comprehension that somehow, a universe grew from that love. In that split second of the big bang our souls grabbed ahold of a teeny, tiny piece of that love, and we have been happy sad laughing crying jumping crawling all at the same time, and this, THIS moves this fragile life of ours. You feel it swell in your chest that you lose your breath and your stomach quivers. You digest it to the point of exhaustion and your legs are weak. (more…)

No matter the origin, negative energy has only one destination, and that place is your soul.

I’m re-posting an older one; mostly so that I learn more from it, and hopefully, you will as well.

No matter the origin, negative energy has only one destination, and that place is your soul. And as you fight it and struggle to push it away, you dwell longer and longer on it, feeding it, until the negativity distracts you and overwhelms you. Its simplicity is why it thrives, and the origin has long moved on, but that whisper, as you sit alone with your thoughts, gnaws and gnaws at your confidence, your heart, your logic, and your connection with God.

Forgiveness.

Jesus teaches of forgiveness because, while it won’t un-ring the bell, it transfers power from an external force to you and your relationship with God. It heals the soul. Instead of struggling, you let go. Now the whisper in your ear speaks of love and freedom. Forgiveness brings peace and a realization that life moves on, even after a bout with negative energy.

Seek and you shall find. Ask and it will be given. Forgive and you will know love.

I love you. Wade
