The me that’s been on my knees
Asking God to deliver what he wants me to see
I guess that’s just the poet in me

The urge to write, the emptiness
The heart of love for the homeless
The prayers I’ve said for those in need
The me that’s been on my knees
Asking God to deliver what he wants me to see
I guess that’s just the poet in me
